The G12 Vision

Our G12 Vision has two main components:

  • Cells organised into generations.
  • The Journey, a discipleship training programme that makes it possible for generations to grow.

The G12 Vision also revolves around four core actions called The Ladder of Success:

  • Win
  • Consolidate
  • Disciple
  • Send

Let us first look at the two main components.

Cells and Generations

There are four networks, being the Men's Net, the Women's Net, Solid Rock Youth and Kingdom Kids. Each one of these networks has a Primary Cell made up of the twelve main generation heads in each generation and are led by the Senior Pastor, the Senior Pastor's wife, the Youth Pastor and the Children's Pastor respectively.

Each of these generation heads lead their own cells in turn. The ideal is for each cell leader to disciple and train his cell members to become cell leaders in their own right. Thus everybody attends a cell and also leads a cell. This way a generation grows with every person becoming a leader and eventually a leader of leaders.

A new cell is an open cell which can have as many as twenty members in it. That is because winning new believers is important and the cell becomes their spiritual family. However, as cell members are trained to become leaders by attending the School of Leaders they will add those members they brought to the parent cell to their own cell. Each cell should end up with only twelve leaders. This is called a G12 cell. When all the leaders in a G12 cell have G12 cells, that level in the generation is called the hundred and forty-four.

The Journey

The Journey is an essential component in consolidating new believers and training new leaders. Without it the generations would not have the tools they need to complement the discipleship work being done in the cells and new believers would not be able to go through the process needed to bring them to maturity. That is why The Journey has two parts, The Journey to Freedom to consolidate and The Leadership Journey to train.

As mentioned above, we achieve the vision by climbing The Ladder of Success:

Win

In the G12 vision we are all called to lead others to Jesus, see them set free and disciple them into the image of Christ. Before a cell member even starts on The Leadership Journey he is encouraged to lead people to Christ. He may also assist at altar calls in counselling seekers in the Altar Work Room or he can get involved in visitation or evangelism programmes. He should also invite people to the Encounter Weekend.

During the time he attends School of Leaders Level 2 of The Leadership Journey, he must begin to form his own cell in which he must lead at least three members. He cannot attend Level 3 until he runs his own cell.

Consolidate

The consolidation process is central to the success of the G12 strategy.

Cell Leaders and their Consolidators see to it that new believers join a cell with people that they can relate to easily.

Besides establishing them in cells, Consolidators will also see to it that all believers go through the consolidation process on The Journey to Freedom, at the heart of which lies the Encounter experience. There are two parts to The Journey to Freedom. They are the Encounter Weekend and the Post-Encounter.

The Cell Leaders and Consolidators from his cell will see to it that new believers start on The Journey to Freedom.

This starts with one of the most important parts of the G12 Vision, the Encounter, which takes place over a weekend at a nearby campsite. This is a life-changing, refreshing and empowering experience.

After the Encounter the new believers go through another series of Bible studies, the Post Encounter. which take them deeper into the Word and further consolidates their commitment to Christ.

Disciple

The G12 Cell Vision creates healthy spiritual family units, where each member can reach their full potential as they grow in the knowledge of the Word of God. There’s a cell family near you waiting for you. Your Cell leader will become your spiritual father or mother, who will guide you and encourage you on your spiritual walk. In the cell you will be challenged to live fully for God.

The Journey complements the process in helping you grow to become like Jesus.

It is essential that every member go through the whole process, because he or she can grow in maturity, but can also effectively carry the vision without any distortion. This is like taking up the spiritual DNA of the vision and being ready to pass it on in the discipleship process. Discipleship is not only teaching, but modeling. This applies to the way leaders impart the Vision as well. Disciples must catch the enthusiasm of their leader, rather than just understand the concept.

Send

In 2 Timothy 2:2, Paul made it clear to Timothy that he should transmit and entrust the teaching and instructions that he had learned from Paul to reliable and faithful people. They in turn would then be competent and qualified to teach others. No one can teach and talk about what they have not experienced or received. They cannot see the spiritual world if their eyes have not been opened.

Cell Leaders will watch their cell members mature and encourage those who have grown sufficiently to start a cell. As soon as they are ready he will send them out (although they always continue to attend his cell too).

This is where the Leadership Journey becomes important. Through the Sharing Jesus Altar Workers' Course leaders are given a strategy to consolidate new believers. Through Schools of Leaders Levels One, Two and Three competent leaders are sent out to start their own cells and generations. Through the Re-encounter leaders are encouraged to re-examine themselves so that they may be good models for those they lead.
