Noah’s Ark Pre-primary School was established in 1982 by Rose de Vos, a pastor’s wife at Word of Faith Christian Centre. She started the school in a home in Cotswold with a vision and three children. Today this excellent pre-school boasts seven classes and 110 children.

The school is currently situated at two different venues:

• Junior Noah’s Ark is situated at 16 Harold Road, Charlo and operates under the Spiritual Guidance of Word of Faith Christian Centre
• Senior Noah’s Ark is situated in Cedar Road, Fairview where it serves as a Grade R which feeds the primary school, Willow Academy. It forms part of the Word of Faith Education Department.

Education

Classes are small and children have the benefit of much attention from their teachers.

The school follows a busy curriculum which includes Christian education, developmental play, theme table discussion, creative activities, organized quiet play, free play and story time. In addition to this a highly acclaimed school readiness programme, the “A Beka” curriculum from Pensecola, Florida is also implemented from the age of 3. This programme, together with the excellent art programme (which develops all perceptual skills) provides a stimulating preparal for Grade 1.

The standard of all education is high and Noah’s Ark has been applauded for the exceptional preparation for school by many parents and primary schools.

Ages

Children from 2 years of age (provided they are potty trained) and up to school going age (6) are catered for.

Times

Junior Noah’s Ark opens at 07.10 am, school starts at 8.15 am and ends at 12.15 pm.

Senior Noah’s ark opens at 07.10 am, school starts at 8.30 am and ends at 12.30 pm.

Aftercare

There are two aftercare choices:

• From 12.30 – 14.30. Parents have to supply an additional lunchbox during this session of aftercare.
• From 12.30 – 17.30. Meals are included.

Aftercare is available at both venues.

Holiday Care

A holiday care facility is available at the Junior Noah’s Ark venue. Children from Senior Noah’s Ark are allowed to make use of this service. Holiday care starts at 7.30 am and ends at 17.30 pm.
