Guaranteed Romance!

Love is the most powerful force on earth. For the love of a woman, a man will swim the deepest ocean and climb the highest mountain. History records that for the love of a woman, a king abdicated his throne; a wealthy nobleman spent a lifetime and many fortunes building a castle; and a military statesman conquered a nation. The joining together is like two streams flowing side by side and then blending. When the two streams come together, there is a great deal of foam and splashing, however, as they become one, they are stronger and deeper than either one of them were individually.

God never intended for our marriage to be a reformatory school, but rather an environment for growing and learning in which (if everything is as it should be) both partners can grow and develop. God wants to use your marriage for His purpose. He will mould you for your own benefit and for His glory. We think that there are only two individuals involved, which is true in part, but there is a third who can give even greater meaning to your individual and married life—that person is Jesus
Christ.

The weekend is loaded with surprises and the topics covered are:

  • Covenant
  • How to Love Your Mate
  • Stages of Marriage
  • Leaving the Old and Clinging to the New
  • The Roles Love and Respect Play
  • Fulfilment in Physical Love

The Presenting team is led by Pastors Pierre (B.A. Admission) and Rose de Vos. Pierre is a full time pastor and a resourceful counsellor who has seen many marriages healed. Rose is a school principal and is dedicated to wholeness in the family. Charl and Marianne Lötter have been involved in marriage counselling since 1985 and together helped many couples through many difficult situations. Their humorous way of presenting the most difficult topic of the sexual union has become very popular amongst many churches and people. The rest of the team are Ralton and Amanda Terblanche, André and Sheena Engel and Jacques and Charlene Erasmus. This team is dedicated to give you a weekend that you will never forget!

Also bring a pen each, but please do not bring your own music; music will be provided.

Directions to the Loerie Rest Camp ¾–1 hour outside P.E.:

  • Take the N2 towards Humansdorp.
  • Cross the Van Staden's River Bridge.
  • Turn off on the R331 to Hankey, Patensie, Gamtoos and Baviaans ca. 40 km from Port Elizabeth.
  • Pass the town of Loerie after 10 km.
  • About 7 km beyond Loerie turn off to the right onto an old tar road on top of a hill at a small white sign which says PPC and a large sign which says Heritage Trails. A coco pan topped tower next to the Koekepan farm stall on this corner is visible for some distance.
  • After about 2 km at an old little closed up green and white shop on your left take the right gravel fork in the road.
  • At the security gate write your details and sign in the book the guard will give you.
  • Just after the gate you should pass a cream office and hall on your right and continue straight for another 1½ km. (Do not take the left turn just after the gate).
  • Turn right just after you get to a small seminar hall to your right. (If you get to overhead cables suspended from steel pylons, a rondawel, an electricity substation and other buildings, you have gone too far).
  • Backtrack around the hall and up the stretch of lawn to your accommodation.
